Gross Motor
Mila did a lot of movements in the Baby Day as an active toddler. She explored the lawn are a lot, and she moved from one spot to another one several times. In addition, she threw the red ball frequently to different directions, and after she threw it, she would get it and returned it to her mother. Moreover, she tried to bring the big basket to her mother. Also, when she saw the guy played the guitar, she tried to dance. All of these big muscle movements are gross motor skills.
Fine Motor
As a 16-months toddler, Mila has a lot of fine motor movements. For example, she always held the phone she liked. Also, she grabbed a teddy bear, and she shook her teddy bear to show us that she got it. Furthermore, she tried to …show more content…
So when Mila’s mother said “we need to share,” she would give other child her toy. Also, Mila could say one word in different situations. When we said “Hi,” to her, she would say “Hi” back. Furthermore, she would say “water” when she pointed at the water bottle. Also, after she threw the ball, she said “that ball”
Sensory Development
Mila did notice different things through her senses. She touched balls and other toys to feel their shapes and materials. Also, she put the card to her face to feel its shape, and she knew that the card was hard. In addition, she shook the toy to hear the sound which it could make, and she felt fun from doing that.
Sensorimotor Skills- Piaget
Mila’s sensorimotor stage is “Tertiary Circular Reactions, Novelty, and Curiosity”, and it is stage 5. Mila was active to explore everything, and she almost tried every toy near her. When Montgomery gave her the toy phone, she showed her curiosity, and she kept playing with the phone. Also, she tried to give the phone to other children or her mother. She could walk, crawl and sit up, and she could pull up to stand, too. More importantly, she loved to throw things such as balls and other toys all the time. That was a typical motor skill which a 16-months toddler should have. In addition, she got more flexible with her fingers. She could hold things for a long time, and she also knew how to grasp and grab objects such as her teddy bear and the basket. Moreover, she knew how to wave her hands and shook the toys. So all these examples shows Mila had a good development with her gross motor and fine motor
