Into Thin Air By Jon Krakauer: A Personal Analysis

The school had just gone off for winter break. I was excited to be free of homework for two weeks I thought to myself. As days past I would just relax by sleeping in more than I would usually and play video games with some friends and my cousins. Then Christmas came out of nowhere and I got to see relatives that I haven't seen for in years at my grandma's house that had been decorated with big old-fashioned Christmas lights. Furthermore, the house had the exact same apple tree but this time the tree had grown to be as tall as the house and had lost most of its leafs. After Christmas and as more time passed our family met again for New Year's Eve at my grandma's house of course. We would celebrate with my favorite traditional food of pancit, which is basically noodles, various vegetables mixed together.
Just when it was time to celebrate a new year It just hit me in the

My room was a mess with clothes I had got from Christmas and I mean a lot from jeans, sweaters, and of course flannels. I had ignored all the mess and focused on the task at hand which was finish reading the book "Into thin air" by Jon Krakauer. I spent the whole day reading it that I managed to get to half of the book done. What I really did is skip couple pages here and there. I knew at that point I would fail miserably trying to finish this book and write an essay on it. So what I did was skip the rest of the book and go online, read chapter summaries from various websites such as SparkNotes. Later, the day before school I decided to just copy chunks and chunks of essay responses from SparkNotes. After, copying and pasting, I would then try to alter the text with synonyms of words. After, that I felt confident that it would truly pass by my teacher because we weren't turning it in on turnitin.com. But in my head, I wasn't as confident because I told myself "He'll probably type some parts of my essay on google or

On the 8th of October, I was given an assignment to find the book Why Things Bite Back by Edward Tenner. When I find the book I have to answer the question of how many pages are in chapter 12. I originally wanted to do this task right away, but little did I know that my mind had other ideas. When class ended, I went to my introduction to college class and thinking about how I would handle it. So I devoted my entire focus to that problem for the entire class period.…

I support Jon Krakauer because he experienced deaths and suffered but he made it to the summit and went back down. He made it to Camp 4 but the others weren’t there yet one of them made it to camp 4 and stayed with Krakauer. Although he had doubts of Everest he wanted to make it to the summit but people from his group died on Everest, he wished he never climbed Everest. Jon wrote an article of Mount Everest and his experience there. He cared for his group but he worried about himself mostly, I think he was a hero but he did what he needed to do for the group even when he didn’t have oxygen.…

Christmas in that town was fun, we would have multiple posadas at different friends houses. Posadas are parties done in December in which there is singing and breaking piñatas, and dinner is eaten. One particular December we went to three different posadas, one was with our neighborhood where all the people and kids gathered around the street and we all played and broke the piñata, the kids going crazy when it broke, the sound of falling coins and scrambling kids ringing in the chilly night air. I loved going to my grandparents’ for the posada that they held every year and all of my mom’s 12 brothers and sisters gathered at the house and there were so many of my cousins that I probably didn’t know half of them. There was always an hour taken,…
