Once upon a time, a cat always wanted to fly and touch the cotton candy clouds. His friends supported him all the way through no matter what.

But the other animals, especially the birds, had other plans. They made fun him because they see his dream as something pointless.

But he didn’t let anyone stop him from reaching his dreams. Decided, he created plans to prove that with or without wings, he will soon soar on the blue skies

PLAN A. He attached light paddles into his arms while a trampoline is set before him. When he was ready, he rushes towards the trampoline and jumped on top of it. He bounced off and began to flap his “wings” as hard as he could. But oh no! He was not flying. Instead, he hit the ground and gained a few scratches from the fall. A few animals saw what happened and began to laugh at him. The cat stood up and went back home.

He made a set of wings using white feathers, wax, and metal frames that are not too heavy for him. He continued to work for many days and nights. He stood up and saw a few animals laughing at him again. He went back home while carrying his broken wings.

It was almost dark when he arrived at home. He sat by near the window when he noticed something glowing. Ah, it was just a floating lantern. But then, an idea popped into his mind.

PLAN C. He gathered all the things he needed and worked for days and nights. After finishing, he went outside and started setting up his new inventions. While making sure that everything is perfect, everybody was watching him work. Even though some of them are telling him to quit, he refused to give

In chapter 18 page 189, Krakauer shows an epiphany that McCandless made in the end of his journey. He realized that “Happiness is only real when shared” when he previously believed that “You're wrong if you think the joy of life comes from human relationships.” This line was really meaningful to me because it was the part of his life where he realized that he can’t share his happiness if there is no one there to share it with which made him regret leaving all of his loved ones behind. He also learned to forgive. He forgave his parents and by the end he even returned to his actual name meaning that he was ready to return to society…

In both the passage and the fable, there was one common theme that they both shared. The common theme that they both had is that, although always used to one thing, you should always try something new. This theme could have been identified when the boy talks to his teacher about the contest and also when the animal runs out of the cage. Some reasons that this passage supports the theme is because on paragraph twenty-five Mrs. Neville says,"You should consider it". Well if you read the passage you would know that she is saying that the boy should try something new by entering the contest and seeing whether or not this is something he would enjoy doing.…

There is an old saying: “You should never judge a book by its cover.” In “A Very Old Man with Enormous Wings: A Tale for Children,” that is precisely what all of the characters do; each character makes their first judgement on the man with enormous wings based on how he appears to them. It is not until the man with wings has lived with Pelayo and his family for some time that they learn more about what exactly he is and what he to them for. It is often easy for someone to make assumptions about someone based on how they look and act.…
