Krakauer starts Into the Wild with telling us what happens to Chris McCandless as a result of his character traits. Chris McCandless was born to wealth, and was ashamed of that. Chris possessed many traits that made him a good man in this tragedy. He was smart, friendly, hardworking, and loved to talk.
