Into The Wild: A Short Story

The wind howled as the fresh white snow swirled around him. Otzi, a 5’3 man with bright blue eyes had everything he could possibly need to survive in the vast Alp Mountains. He had his first aid kit and a fanny pack with him, prepared for any type of emergency. The fanny pack contained a fire kit, flint tools, a drill, and a sewing kit. After few hours of exploring, Otzi felt a really sharp pain in the side of his body. Using the needles from the sewing kit, he created acupuncture points to help relieve the pain and stress.
His brother, Rufus, his friend Albus, and a few other people were also traveling alongside with Otzi. The temperature was so intense, that you could see the collision of your warm breath and the brisk iciness of the weather. The cold air prickles at your skin as you walk through the mountains. You could hear as the snow crunched through the silence of the evening. His clothing, domesticated goat hide leggings and his fur, cross-stitched leather boots, fur coat, and a bare, thick fur hat, really helped him with getting through the cold weather. While they were walking, they came across a few bodies. Albus had gone searching the other direction as Otzi made his way towards the body in the snow. It was Otzi’s brother, Rufus. Otzi didn’t know what to do, so he ran without stopping until he came to a cliff. Otzi heard the crunch of the hard snow behind him. He was in too much of a haze from his brother’s death, that he didn’t even pay attention to it. He turned around and saw a silhouette of a man, but couldn’t clearly identify who it was. Before he could do anything, he felt a dagger being trudged into him. He started to wobble and fell off the cliff. As he fell, panic and fear surged through his body.
