Prior History to Abuse
Exposure to violence is a major contributing factor to perpetration of violence. Perpetration of intimate partner violence can be as a result of exposure to abuse. If a child grows up in an abusive environment or when he/she experienced frequent physical discipline chances are that they might become perpetrators of intimate partner violence. This is because they would have learned and observed being abused and later in life they would imitate what they learned.
