According to research, about an infamous case of an intimate partner, Kobe Bryant. Bryant who is now a former NBA player for the Lakers team, was accused of Sexual Assault by a 19-year-old female on July 1st, 2003 in Colorado. Bryant was married during this time and had been in Colorado for Surgery just one day prior to the sexual event. Furthermore, that incident had taken place at a hotel by the name of the Lodge and Spa at Cordillera. Bryant admitted to the part about having a sexual encounter with the young woman, but he denied the allegations performing such act without her consent to do so.
Several events transpired up to the point of sex taking place such as, the woman kissing Bryant, bending over in front of him and rubbing on his genital area. According to the Ted Talk video by Leslie Morgan Stiner she stated that female by the ages of 16 to 24 years old are more likely to be victimized. Stiner also stated that when seduction and charm is present in disguised it is easier for the victim to be isolated and then abused. However, in this case the woman appeared to cause herself to be victimized by throwing assets to a man. Therefore, that outcome of the case was that the charges were dropped and Bryant publicly apologized to the accuser involved in the incident, as well as her family, and friends. The perception of accuser was not classified as a victim in this case because of her engagement in the act.
