When interviewing my volunteer, Jill she describes her recovery like waking from a bad dream. She described that since she reached her recovery she now feels like she knows what happiness really is. She stated that when you are at the lowest point of your life, you believe that you will never feel good again, you are always going to be stuck that way. She stated with time and a lot of support she slowly began to feel better, she stated she started to want to do more, she felt energized. She stated it wasn’t easy, she stated she had to keep pushing, even when there were days all she wanted to do was stay in bed and have the world to disappeared. He said he does have a set back from time to time but he usually able to recognize it early enough to get back in to see a counsellor, as he doesn’t want to go back to the hospital. When asked if he had anything to say to anybody us seeking recovery, Steve stated never give up, no matter how bad things seem it will get better. They both describe a period of despair that they went through describing that they didn’t know if they were ever going to feel normal again. They both found a path to recovery by receiving support from peers and counsellors. They both describe their recovery as taking a lot times, and both stated that they needed to stay motivated not to give up. They both state that they have experienced setbacks and they both state if you catch it early or avoid triggers it can quicken the time it takes to recover from these setbacks. They both stated that work was a big help to their recovery as it made them feel useful and normal. Both describe hope and time as key to their recovery. They both also important to ask for help early as it aids the person to stay on their recovery.Once the person is well enough , to encoyrage them to get back their regular life
