Growing up in New York City has been a wonderful and challenging experience. This city offers so many opportunities to its residents, but tapping into those resources proves to be a challenge all its own. When everything seems both immensely important and incredibly useless, a mentor or person willing to guide one through the academic process can make the difference between excellence, mediocrity, and failure.
