Personal Narrative: My Interview With An Electrical Engineer

When I was first asked to do this interview assignment, I was very concerned as to who I would be interviewing. I did not want to interview any random Engineer because it would not be pertinent to my future career. The few people I would be able to interview that were family friends, were not Electrical Engineers. I knew of a Civil, Chemical, and Mechanical Engineer, none of which I found to fit my assignment. I wanted to specifically interview an Electrical Engineer because they would be able to give me better insight on my desired career. When I began the looking for an Electrical Engineer to interview, I began to think of ways to find one. I considered looking up a few local Electrical Engineering firms in the area on the internet and contacting them or searching through the yellow pages to find one. Before I began to do this, I decided to ask my older siblings if they knew of any I could possibly interview. Luckily, one of my older sisters knew of one I could contact and ask for the brief interview. I received his contact information on a Saturday night, so I decided to contact him Sunday after I finished work. When I requested the interview from the Electrical Engineer, he was more than willing to be interviewed. Before the interview took place, I considered a few possible ways to make the necessary notes during the course of the interview. When I reviewed my options, I concluded that taking no notes was my best option. I decided the best way to keep track of his responses was to record the entire interview from start to finish. When I made the initial phone call to conduct the interview, he Hassan (the Electrical Engineer) asked if he could postpone the interview for about ten minutes.
