Growing up I was raised by a single dad. He never finished his college education and did what he had to do at times to make ends meet. Sometimes that meant working out of town away from his family and sometimes that meant showing up to a job he hated everyday just to collect a paycheck. Looking back at it now a lot of the things I’ve learned from my dad were just skills on how to survive. Some of the things he never taught me though was the importance of an education. Nothing he ever said would back that statement up but actions speak louder than words. I was never pushed to do better or to take more challenging courses. In high school, I would rather aim low and hit than aim high and miss. Well that attitude got me
