Benefits Of A Clinical Psychologist

I had the opportunity to interview Dr. Pamela Dengrove. She is a clinical psychologist and specializes in forensic psychology as well. She graduated in 2012 from Widener University. The interview instead of being in person was through the phone. Dr. Dengrove was kind enough to answer my questions while she was driving, I assume to her job. She even stopped at the gas station to get gas. I think this was an unexpected interview for her, but I am grateful for her time and words. During the interview we spoke of topics such as why she decided to pursue a career in psychology?, what a day as a psychologist look? and so on. They speak to and listen carefully to their patients and from there try find out as much information as they can from this person to find them a treatment that suits them the best, and will help them solve their problems. Some of the disorders that these psychologists work with are substance abuse, anxiety, depression, and eating disorders. I have also read online that accomplishing a clinical psychology degree takes a long time, and of course you have to attend graduate school and most of the times earn your doctorate degree. Doing the interview gave me a second opinion and view of what it really is to do a clinical psychologist job. Dengrove is what motivates her to get it done at the end of the day. She describes her days as being different, and she knows that people feel good when they are being listened to and in the end that is rewarding. Her jobs are easy to adapt to and she has different tools to help her get them done. When asked to rate her job from one being easy to ten being hard Dr. Dengrove reminded that it all depended on what she was doing, with whom she was working and her relationship towards that person. In the end she rated her job from a three to an eight or nine. Her answer was interesting because it means that her job is not constant sometimes she could have easy days in her job, but other days could be challenging. No job is perfect, and even though she enjoys doing her job Dr. Dengrove has something she would change about
