As I continue my passion of interviewing those involved in the entertainment industry, sometimes I happen upon people in most unusual ways. I happened to put in a request to interview an actor (Karl E. Landler--his interview will happen later), and this charming gentleman included Marem Hassler as part of that request. I was quite unfamiliar with her and her fantastic work, but as I have continued to interact with her and discover her impressive list of credits, she happily agreed to answer some comprehensive questions encompassing everything from her early work to her present projects as well her general philosophy of her career and her life in general.

{laughs} It had a huge cult following at the time and still has, as it was very tongue-in-cheek, super geeky and a little "out there." I had just come out of drama school and got to fly to Canada for a week working opposite Brit Ekland. I was lucky. It was a very professional and respectful set to be on as an actor, and it set the tone of what I wanted to experience on set and what I was willing to work towards in my career. It's really a team effort, and respect for everybody regardless of their position is essential. They become your family no matter how long the shoot is.

They all are--every time! I think I'm always that little bit terrified and excited about a part. Usually you'll go to an audition, and if they like what you've done, you book the gig--that's when the real job begins, at least for me. I try and get as much research in as possible, and if the role asks for physicality or special skills, I will try and get as good at them in real life, as possible.

Within the Canadian criminal justice system offenders are often placed back into the community under the supervision of probation officers, as an alternative to incarceration (Griffiths & Murdock, 2014, p. 68). Imposed as a sentence by the Criminal Court judge, in a number of different ways and under different circumstances, probation is the most commonly used strategy for this type of supervision (Griffiths & Murdock, 2014, p. 92). This summer seems to be the summer of new shows--at least for me. And because many of my favorite actors are going to be guest-starring on the new show Dead of Summer, I developed a tremendous interest in the show iteself as well as the main cast of the show. It just so happens that Eli Goree is one of those regular cast members, and I was quite pleased when he set aside some time recently to answer a few questions about his experience as an actor as well as his thoughts about this new Freeform TV series. Last year, prior to the premiere of Garage Sale Mystery: The Novel Murders, I had the extraordinary experience of interviewing Ken Tremblett. Up to that point, I had only known Ken as Grant Markham from Unleashing Mr. Darcy and Patrick from When Calls the Heart. Even though Ken's career is decidedly more extensive than his recent Hallmark films, he fosters a certain fondness in his heart for these delightful tales in which he normally portrays "the man you love to hate. " It sounds as though Ken may be whitewashing his image a bit in his upcoming Hallmark film The Art of Us, and I am grateful that this successful working actor took a moment recently to answer a few questions about this film in addition to his recent and upcoming roles.…

Introduction I originally was going to interview a girl from Singapore for this paper, but I had to go back home and I was not able to talk with her after all. So while I was back in my home town I interviewed a girl I went to school with, and for the sake of the paper I am going to refer to her as Sally. Before interviewing Sally I knew how our physical appearances differed, but I didn’t realize how culturally different we were. Understanding Others Sally is different from me in number of ways, but some of our differences are she is a mother, she refers to herself as a Christian, she still lives in the town she grew up in, and she has a job.…

I loved film, theater, and television because it let people escape for a moment into a fictional world. As an actress, you could be someone else. But on the flip side, I’ve since learned that actors are really not supposed to be trying to act--they should be trying to portray real life. When I was in high school, I got involved in the theater program, but I didn’t think it could be a real career. So I went off to the university and pursued a degree in marketing and…

I am finding that ending this placement is a bittersweet experience. Times of transition like this cause me to reflect on what I have learned and how it will impact me in the future. Firstly, it has been very nice to make some connections in Richmond and Greater Vancouver more generally because I am not from here. I had the chance to get to know my supervisors quite well and feel extremely lucky to have had so much support. I knew that I had a strong relationship with one of my supervisors when I was able to tell her about my placement interview with the other supervisor and how it was so awkward because I got very lost and because my feet were bleeding from blisters.…

I would like to have better knowledge on the subject of evaluating and interviewing perspective employees. Having often taken part in multiple interviews for new employee evaluations at my company I would like to understand if there is a better or more effective method of interviewing that could potentially make this process better and more effective. We currently use an unstructured process and decisions are made more on gut feeling and interaction abilities rather than on resumes, work experience or answers to questions. It is my thought that a structured method of interviewing would seem more effective. But most of the employees that have been hired in this unstructured method have been good and effective employees.…
