Assessment:
My overall impression of my interviewee is that she interviewed very well. She arrived on time and looked very professional. She was dressed conservatively, neatly, and appropriately for the interview. She presented herself in a very friendly, positive, and upbeat manner. I appreciated her firm handshake and that she made eye contact very frequently throughout the interview. Sitting across the table from me she looked very professional as she was sitting up straight, was not fidgeting, and presented herself with an air of confidence. She arrived prepared and ready to be interviewed.

My interviewee was very well informed about the company’s history, mission statement, and requirements of its employees. I found this to be very impressive. She used the proper terminology for the position and was quite comfortable using industry language. She was very knowledgeable about the company’s commitment not only to its customers, but to its employees as well. She appreciated the company’s goal to assist all their employees to be lifelong learners and stated why that is one of the reasons she would like to work for our company.
I feel my interviewee was very well prepared for the interview and informed her of that, but I also offered a few suggestions for her next interview. I explained how this will allow her to answer questions more thoughtfully and will possibly prevent her from having to use “ums”. I explained how her answers were very appropriate, articulate and thoughtful, but the use of “ums” takes away a little …show more content…
I told her that it was obvious that she had done research on the company and had devoted a lot of time to prepare for the interview. I suggested she continue to do that for future interviews, as that was quite impressive.
Reflection:
I quite enjoyed being the interviewee. I enjoyed preparing for the interview by reviewing the job posting, the interviewee’s cover letter, her resume, and researching the company. I found it very interesting to discover the numerous interview questions that can be asked during an interview. I did find it challenging to narrow down my list of questions to just ten. This made me really consider the best questions to ask that would provide me with the answers I would need to make the best possible hiring decision.
I feel I was welcoming, professional, and assertive during the interview. I tried to make the interviewee feel relaxed and comfortable. I would make a few humorous comments about some of her responses or my questions to help make her feel more relaxed.
I tried to provide my interviewee with many opportunities to demonstrate her skills and abilities and for her to persuade me about her appropriateness for this position. I tried to present a friendly demeanor as I did not want her to feel intimidated or
