Interview Questions
Research interviews take place when there are two or more people. These people have a conversation and the conversation has a purpose. The purpose is based on the topic that the interviewer wants to discuss which is based on the purpose or the topic of the research. The interviewer has to establish trust with the respondent. The respondent has to agree to answer the questions and listen to what the interviewer is asking. Interviews are separated by types which include structured, semi-structured and unstructured. This allows the interviewer to ask questions for clarification and a chance to ask questions that were supplied in the script. An example of a semi-structured question is "Can you tell me more about the vaccinations you have had in the past five years?" This gives the respondent a chance to elaborate.
An example of an unstructured interview question is "What type of vaccinations to children get in your community?" Unstructured interviews are open and free flowing (Tappen 2011). This is mostly seen in qualitative studies instead of quantitative studies. This gives the respondent the chance to express their experience and provide full detail. General concerns about the risk of adverse effects were identified in all but one of these studies (Mills, Jadad, Ross & Wilson 2005).This study is trustworthy because it provides information on all components explained about. In this study, there is a section called selection that discusses the criteria that one had to meet to participate and be a part of the study. There was also a data abstraction and validity assessment that discusses how the information was extracted from the study to make it the study valid.
