As Regional Vice-President over nine facilities, Travis Hillis is responsible to motivate several employees in various positions. A common method of motivation implemented by Mr. Hillis is to celebrate success, making it clear as to why; also, trusted staff members are given opportunities then credited for their contributions. By giving credit where due, more staff members feel needed, and this could cause friendly competition. Managers need to familiarize themselves with those that are hard to motivate to discover what drives them. There should be no fear of stepping on others toes if needed, which it often is. All in all, the views presented in the interview with Travis Hillis present a firm understanding of personal success, beneficial motivation, decision making, and effective communication among managers. Mr. Hillis’s regional position with Life Care Center offers a truly unique point of view for a manager like position. Communication occurs constantly no matter the work place, but an effective one makes communication work for them to better a patron’s experience with them. Upon reflection, my interview with Mr. Travis Hillis went fairly well, considering my limited experience. After arranging my interview I began by looking into Life Care Centers as a company, with the aim to better grasp what the company was. In the interview, I focused on the suggested questions on the syllabus, and I tried to familiarize myself beforehand in case some were answered without prompt. I could have taken time to think out more specific to healthcare questions for a more company focused discussion. Generally, I kept the interview centered around the questions asked; occasionally, the focus got slightly of course, but I doubt that would be hard to avoid. Next time I would mainly focus on practicing what I would say in the interview more beforehand. I feel like nerves impacted my question delivery, and I want to avoid nerves in future interviews.
