Senior Year Narrative

I’ve been waiting for this year since I walked into Coral Gables Senior High as a freshman. Everyone kept talking about how senior year was the best year anyone can experience in their 4 years in high school and I was finally a senior. Senior year was finally here and I couldn’t wait to go to grad bash, prom and the most exciting part of the whole year, graduation. I knew I was going to enjoy the experience and love every second of it. Senior year was my year to let loose and be stress free. After five months of waiting, I was going to do my first senior activity, grad bash. Grad bash is when the whole senior class goes to the parks in Orlando for three days and to also see Blue Man Group. I couldn’t sleep the night before and I had to wake …show more content…
Prom was more stressful then applying for college but more exciting than me getting my first car. The whole entire month of prom was looking for the perfect dress, which hairdresser would do my hair for that date, what type of shoe matched my dress, etc... Finally, prom came and I couldn’t be more exhilarating. That morning I went to my usual hairdresser and I was set for prom. Her name was Helen. She was the Dominican Republic and she knew how to do nails, wax, makeup, and hair super well. I think Helen was more thrilled about my prom than myself. I took the whole day getting myself ready. I woke up at ten in the morning and I finished everything and got my dress and shoes on an hour before prom started. My mother was in the room while I was putting my dress on, and I hear shuffling, when I turned around it was my mother crying. I asked her what was wrong. She replied,” My baby girl looks so grown. I remembered when I just brought you home from the hospital, you were so tiny and beautiful.” When I heard my mom say that I felt so emotionally. After that emotionally moment with my mother, my stepdad and my mother drove me to my friend Jessie’s house to meet up with her and my other friend, Stephanie. They both looked gorgeous. All three of us went to prom in an Uber Deluxe, which was a huge Cadillac Escalade. We arrived to prom and everything looked picturesque. The decorations and setting looked like it came out from a picture of Havana, …show more content…
That morning of Graduation was hectic. Graduation started at 9 am so I woke up at 6:30 am to take a shower, do my hair and makeup, get dressed, and wake up my mother, stepdad, and my younger brother. After I took a shower, I did my hair and it came out perfect. But when I started doing my makeup, everything when downhill. My face color didn’t match the rest of my body color, my cheek came out too pink, everything was a disaster, my mom came in and helped with my makeup and it came better then expected. At 8:30 am my family and I left the house to the University of Miami Bank United Center, which is where graduation was happening. We got there and I had to go back stage to get in Alphabetical order and my family went to get seats closer to the stage. At 9:45 am, the senior class started walking into the auditorium and got seated in the middle of it. After the superintendent, our school principle, and other important people stop giving their motivational speeches, the senior class started walking across the stage. After 8 rows of people, my row came up. I was the first person to walk up on stage. I was terrified. I was afraid of falling on my face or tripping on my shoes. I did great, I walked perfectly and my school principle handed me my diploma on my hand and said.” Congratulations.” I knew at that exact moment I made my mom, my family, and myself proud. After the ceremony, I met

The end of the day comes whether you have gotten up to do something productive or if you have simply remained inanimate while time moves around you. I have found that the present slips away while you are worrying about the future. We are constantly telling ourselves that if we just get through this, then everything after will be better. We forget to appreciate the moment while constantly reaching for a hypothetically more fulfilling life. Once we graduate high school, or get through a challenging class, or finish a workout, everything after will get easier.…

For the past year, I could only provide an indefinite answer to a frequently asked question, How was your freshman year? In fact, those of us who experienced our freshman year could be addressed as “college veterans” will never initiate a conversation with regard to the past year. Perhaps they consider that the freshman year was not as consummate as they initially planned. I cannot judge my first year in college was successful or frustrating, but I feel I benefited from the meritorious experiences and practical knowledge gained from my college life. In my opinion, no matter what goals one wishes to achieve in college, whether its grade, love, health, or sense of accomplishment, one has to be prepared for both failures and…

In high school my most outstanding example of a time when I set an example as a student leader was my sophomore year in high school. My sophomore year of high school I was brought up to the varsity soccer team, the team that I was on was not extremely hard working and or dedicated. As a sophomore I was afraid to stand up and verbally tell the entire team that we need to step it up, or we are going to have a horrible season, so I decided to make my statement apparent by my actions. First, I started by always being the first one to every practice, putting pressure on my other teammates to do the same, in result everyone started to arrive to practice earlier. The second step I took was difficult since I was one of the youngest players and the…

"Success is the result of perfection, hard work, learning from failure, loyalty and persistence" I have had many ups and downs over the course of my life thus far. One specific example of this took place during my freshman year of high school. When I started high school it was very challenging for me, partially due to the fact that; during this time, I was lazy, unmotivated and did not really take school seriously. This by far is one of my biggest regrets to this day. Who would ever think that not trying during my freshman year would continue to follow me throughout the course of my academic career.…

Graduation was a time to celebrate my achievements, to celebrate growing up and maturing into adulthood, to celebrate my friends and family that guided me along the way, and most importantly to celebrate one chapter coming to an end, and another one just beginning. The night before graduation I could hardly sleep as I knew that my high school career would soon be over. I got up that next morning, took a shower, put my makeup on, straightened my hair, and put my favorite black dress on, only this time I had my chords, cap, and gown to go with it.…

Our chaplain did a great job in leading the prayer service and it was just a great mass. The next day was graduation, graduation was very haunting. In the beginning of high school, I could not wait to graduate but as it became less of a big thing in the future and more of a realistic thing that was coming very quickly I did not want to graduate at all. It all hit me that day, it was over. The people that I spent the four best years of my life with would all be going their separate ways.…
