During my work as a Teaching Assistant, my role involved teaching intervention and booster lessons in both Key Stage 1 and 2. Interventions are essential in targeting areas where children are having difficulties that are effecting their work in class and effecting their ability to progress and meet curriculum expectations, whilst early intervention is important when considering a child’s future progress. Working in Year 6, I provided booster lessons in Maths and English, which had a positive impact in bridging knowledge gaps and aiding the children in successfully completing their SATs. I also provided interventions in Maths, English and Phonics in Key Stage 1. My intervention lessons were successful, in particular within phonics where 9 out of 10 Year 2 children who …show more content…
ICT supports creativity and offers experiences that are not easily accessible, for instance, I used it to show a class the Northern Lights. It supports independent learning and in my interventions, I used Maths games on tablets, which were enjoyable and could be completed independently, whilst I could monitor progress. I use ICT as part of my own love of learning and I am currently learning Spanish using a language app. I have taught Maths in all Key Stages, along with my intervention work, giving me a great depth of experience. I have a great passion for Maths and I see its use beyond the subject, including through creative activities. I believe I have the skills to successfully lead both subject as part of my continual development, bringing my knowledge and ideas to have a positive impact on its teaching. My ICT knowledge would be vital to the school’s improvement plan in relation to pupils being active in informing the community about the school, and could form an extra-curricular club with a pupil created and written blog on the school website, supporting the Computing

I am glad you brought up that faculty needs to be “competent” in Evidence Based Practice (EBP). I had the opportunity to work for a college as a Clinical Adjunct Instructor (CAI). In doing so, CAI were required to monitor, teach, and be available for questions in the clinical lab prior to going to sites. I had a hard time adjusting to the skills check off list due to some of the skills were not up to date such as Foley catheter insertions. When I brought this to their attention including providing EBP literature.…

Firstly, reflecting on the lab simulation of our educational, behavioural intervention group, which was preforming in the working stage; with young women who were prenatal or postnatal; the socio-economic status was that of a lower income position. Sharon and I clearly had defined roles as facilitators, which we collaborated well between each other. There was a shared accountability when aiding in the group including mutual support of each other to help better meet the needs of the group, emotionally, educationally, and cognitively. With feedback from classmates and members of the group that was relayed back that the presentation was creative and well put together, it had a flow to the group. As facilitators we brought in our own life experience, and used informal educational tools and sharing to make the group feel inclusive.…

From midterm to current my CI allowed me to handle more of her caseload, observe online documentation, and weekly progress reports on her patients. She encouraged questions, and thoroughly explained why certain treatments and activities were better than others. She allowed for open communication of patient interventions, which made me feel comfortable enough to take on more of her case load and contributed to my visual, and hands on style of learning. From my initial visit to current my CI has ensured my environment promotes growth at my clinical site.…

I consider this to be of prime importance with such an emphasis on technology in all aspects of workplace and home life. Many pupils have a particularly good knowledge in computing as a result of technology being readily available in school and home. My knowledge in this area is weak, probably due to a lack of opportunity at school; I left school nearly 30 years ago and computers were a relatively new concept only just being introduced into schools. Consequently, most of my knowledge to date has been self- taught, although I have attended learning events in University and school whenever possible. This has created a feeling of apprehension whenever I am asked to be involved in any computer related learning.…

Explain how different types of interventions can promote positive outcomes for children and young people where development is not following the expected pattern. “Early intervention means intervening as soon as possible to tackle problems that have already emerged for children and young people... it means that it targets specific children who have an identified need for additional support once their problems have already begun to develop but before they become serious.” (Department for Education, Early Intervention Paper, 2010.) There are numerous intervention services that are provided through schools namely, SENCo, Speech and Language Therapy, Social Workers and Educational Psychologists etc.…

Tier 2 focuses on struggling readers and extending the instruction to help the students reach grade level as soon as possible. Tier 3 is referred to as more intense instruction, and depending on the child’s improvement, it may result in the diagnosis of a reading disability.…

An exercise in class allowed me to understand my own reasoning for helping others as well as what may be my own selfish reasons for seeking this profession. For example, at one point in the exercise, I broke ground into my own self-assessment and found insight that I was partially seeking the profession for money and for my savior complex. I felt that this observation of myself showed that I was overall, functioning normally with both healthy and minimal unhealthy motivations. Another concern that came across my mind is when I have a…

My Action Plan During this semester, I have discovered useful information about myself, and as I move forward, I will be using the various learning tools and skills. However, before deciding how to improve my methods of learning plan, I took the time to review my transcripts/advising worksheet. By doing this, it has helped me determine exactly how many credits I have left, along with the type of classes. Including those, which are not part of my core curriculum. I need forty-nine credits overall, I have eighteen scheduled over the next two semesters, which includes the ones I am taking right now.…

Throughout this professional experience, I feel I have made several discovers as well as affirmations about who I want to be as a teacher with my own class. One of the biggest and I think most relevant discovers I have been fortunate to make is, how important technology is in teaching the current and future generation of students. As children are growing into digital natives, it is essential for teachers to retrain and adjust their teaching style in order to meet their learners’ needs. During this professional experience, I have had the privileged of having the ICT coordinator of my school as one of my teachers.…
