Intervention Project : Healthy Eating And Exercising Essay
The behavior that I would like to change is eating healthier and exercising. For the past two years I have lived a sedentary life. I used to exercise four times a week for at least an hour. I have gained over 30 pounds in the past 2 ½ years. Right before I gained this weight, I was informed by my primary care physician that I was 20 pounds overweight for my height. It was not as if I wanted to gain weight, but my morale to exercise was gone. I plan to track my change in my eating habits by utilizing calorie counter apps on my phone in order to track my calorie intake daily. My daily calorie intake limit will be 2200 calories . I will be swapping out sugary drinks and drinking more water daily. I will be tracking my weight and activity to measure my progress and calories burned. My exercise routine will be 30-40 minutes Monday, Wednesday and Friday between 7:00 PM and 8:00 PM . On Saturdays, I plan to walk 2 miles. Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Sundays will be the days that I rest. I do realize that in the beginning I may not be able to exercise for longer than 30 minutes because I am out of practice. It is my hope to increase the amount of time that I exercise as the weeks go on. My desire is to live a healthier life overall.
