In the paper, I plan to research the history of interracial relationship also known miscegenation in the United States as our country is a melting pot and given the fact it’s much simpler focusing on one country and their historical viewpoint of interracial relationship. I believe that I’ll be able to find the science of how and why people decide to date outside of their race, along with what complications it might bring to their lives. Some of the brief findings I’ve gotten about interracial relationship was how it was very much taboo for a white person and black person to be together to the point it was illegal and dangerous. However I don’t just want to focus on the romantic union of black and whites but also perhaps between whites and asians or blacks and latinos. When I viewed a Buzzfeed video on YouTube it discussed how on online dating, some races are sought after much more than others. My question of course would be why. I decided on this one because I feel that in today’s youth culture there seems to be a lot of shaming of those who have yet to have sex for the first time. I do think that this isn’t new, that virgin shaming has always been very prevalent. I’d like to get more information about which includes the history and how Westerners began to marginalize those “for their personal choices involving sex”. I have many questions which include whether it’s men or women who get virgin shamed more. Does someone get pressured to have lose their virginity to the point they will actually do it with lack of rational thought on if they were ready or not. Also mass media and religion. Movies such as The 40-year old Virgin could easily be an example of how someone is referred to as nerd or a loser for not fornicating (most of the time at an age you are expected to have done so such as your teenage years). Religion also plays a big part in why those who are pure will abstain from the advances of sex. You have people including celebrities who declare to be celibate until marriage. At the same time, as Americans being we are a more liberated and sex driven culture, does that play a part in virgin shaming? I expect my paper to have hashed out these details and unanswered
