Working as part of an interprofessional team presents both advantages and challenges for members of the team. One of the advantages is in the coordination of care for the patient and the ability of all of the team members to have input based on their assessment of the patient. There is a sharing of information that is real-time that has a positive effect on patient safety and the outcomes for the patient.
