Professional nursing bodies have a lot of say about interprofessional collaboration. As discussed in concept definitions, there is the RNAO with a best practice guidelines for interprofessional care, and the CIHC created a interprofessional competency framework. Both of these professional nursing bodies discus different methods and domains of utilizing IPC within the workplace. They also conclude that the patient will have an improved outcome with IPC. Although the professional nursing bodies have lots to say about IPC they have very little to say about working collaboratively in the ICU.
