“What a Wonderful World” is the chorus as well as the song title. I think this line is used so much to try to help us see that even with all the pain and violence in the world there is still a chance for us to stop and see the world for its beauty. “I See Trees of Green, Red Roses too” is the first line of the song, which is a great opening because it lets the listener know that the song will be focusing on the good things of the world and its beauties. The line “The Bright Blessed Day, the Dark Sacred Night” was carefully worded. This line makes us realize that the days and nights that pass do not have to be looked upon as harsh and they have some kind of greatness to them. All of the instrument are played throughout the entire song except the flute. The flute is plays alongside the line about the rainbow and colors, which I think was a great addition since it makes the listener think about the rainbow in a happier manor. The choreography of the music has to go along with the lyrics depending on how you would want your listener to interpret the lines or emphasize certain areas of the song. Playing with the line “And I think to myself what a wonderful world” the music goes a tad bit higher.(Jazz) I think the reason for this is to emphasize that the world is really a great place to be despite the current disasters and violence. The line “I see friends shaking hands saying how do you do” is showing us to be friendly to those you don’t know because the world would be happier place if everyone was respectful, not minding the harshness that the world could be. At the time of the original producing of the song the Vietnam War was happening. The Vietnam War was a very eventful time in history, causing many deaths of not only soldiers but many innocents too. Many of the father’s brothers and sons that went away to this war did not return home. There were women having babies whose fathers were soldiers in the war, and when they were born they were considered half casts and sent away.
