Interpersonal skills serve us well in the business world and in our lives. Depending on the individual, the road to mastery can be a journey like no other. However, there is a chance that anyone can learn each skill and develop by putting enough time and effort in each one. The main interpersonal skills are listening, assertiveness, negotiation, feedback, persuasion, interviewing and coaching. For each skill, I will have a report containing the definition of the skill, some examples on how the skills can be used in business and a website that offers instructions on how to develop that skill. Listening is the ability to accurately receive and interpret messages in the communication process. Listening is very critical in business especially when you are dealing with your clients and to make sure you meet their satisfaction, you …show more content…
Getting feedback from clients can generate great customer service at a company and also help meet the clients’ needs and satisfaction. For example, whenever a job is done and you ask the customer for feedback so that they can let you know exactly how they were treated in the situation. Depending on how they respond to the situation, it would determine how you will run your business by showing you what makes your clients happy or dissatisfied customers will show you rooms that need improvement. http://www.skillsyouneed.com/ips/feedback.html Persuasion is a deep conviction or belief. It can be used hand in hand with the power of negotiation in order help get where you need to get. For example, when working with some clients who seem to keep looking and not making decisions but you know that is the right product or service for them then you can use this skill only for their best interest. Sometimes people know what they want but they have a hard time making up their mind and this will be the right way to go about it.
