Effective Communication Skills In Pharmacy

This assignment will demonstrate effective communication skills in dealing with a complex issue regarding a client that was to have a medicine that was to be funded by ACC where the documentation had not yet been received by the pharmacy and the issues and barriers that were created due to this. It also will explain interpersonal communication skills that were applied and how beneficial they were in practice. In addition it will describe how other members of the multidisciplinary team who included a Locum Pharmacist and ACC case worker were involved and for what reasons. Furthermore it will reflect on the effectiveness of the communication skills that were utilized to assist in giving the best possible outcome to the client. No one cares and there is always a problem with everything.” This was evidence that she had little confidence in the healthcare she was receiving and felt that in the pharmacy it was going to be no different.

Environmental Barriers: These factors may cause distraction leading to inattentiveness or totally alter the message, causing miscommunication. The location where a communication process takes place can degenerate into a barrier to effective communication. Confidentiality can be compromised and the client may not wish to develuge personal information.
