In the episode “The Car, The Car” from the television show Everybody Loves Raymond, Raymond and Debra (husband and wife) negotiate with their parents (Frank and Marie) about the price of an old car (Frank's car), while arguing about rather it is worthy to keep the car. Frank tells Raymond and Debra that he is selling his 1972 Plymouth Valiant, and Raymond said he wants it because Debra needs a car to run her errands while they are saving up to buy a new minivan, and another reason is that because Raymond has a wonderful and special memory about his father's car. Between Raymond and Debra, we can find the 5 stages of conflict in the video. First, the antecedent conditions stage, Frank tells Raymond and Debra that he is selling his 1972 Plymouth Valiant, and Raymond said he wants it because he has so many memories with that car; however, Debra believes that the money should be saving up for a minivan rather Valiant. This difference in views are the sources and helped to set the conditions for a conflict.
Then, the second stage, perceived conflict stage, Debra realizes that there are differing views on the issue and begins to get frustrated, which initiates the next stage of the conflict known as felt
