My future career goals consist of being a school psychologist. I believe all three of the courses I chose will help me to be an outstanding school psychologist. Interpersonal communication will help me be able to listen to the students proficiently. This course and nonverbal communication will help me to read students when they don’t want to communicate. I will be able to read them by physical appearance, facial expressions, and body language. Interscholastic activities have also helped me overcome my insecurity and step outside my comfort zone. When I was in junior high, I was shy and did not feel comfortable pushing myself beyond what I thought I could do. Today, because of the skills I have developed through activities…

Interpersonal communication is the process of sending and receiving information between two or more people. It is a person-to-person contact, it includes everyday exchange that may be formal or informal and can take place anywhere by means of words, sounds, facial expression, gestures and postures. Two significant learning points for me during this course was in module 3, using the I-language instead of you-language which gives power over our thoughts, feelings and emotions to others. To take responsibility for your own feelings, rely on I language rather than you language. I language owns thoughts and feelings and does not blame them on others (Wood 125).…
