Early on in the film, we see the two main characters working together to try and sell a product to a customer. The two are shown to use special salesmen tactics to get the customer interested in their product and both of them play a role in the sale of the item, and both of them also know the person they are selling to. The two are thought to be too old and inexperienced in current day technology to get the jobs they want at the company. Glass ceilings are an important part of HR management because it can determine who is hired for positions and how far they can go before hitting an invisible barrier. Glass ceilings are definetly in my company as well. Even though i am experienced in using photoshop and other graphic media tools, i can’t rise as high as i should because my age is too young to have such an important role in the company. The two are able to break through the glass ceiling at the end of the movie by showing their job experience in dealing with people outweighs their inexperience in technology. The characters have to show their aptitude at doing certain tasks the company requires and they are reviewed based on their performance. This is similar in how people get jobs at my company. While experience and education is necessary, the work itself is a big part of being hired. To become a graphics designer, i was asked for a portfolio of my work in order to be considered. I didn’t have as much experience as working in the field but my work itself was what got me hired. In the movie, the interns are shown to not have much job experience, but demonstrate their ability at working the products during the internship itself.
