Internship Fair Assignment

When I found out about the job and internship fair assignment I was very excited to visit the booths and experience a job fair for the first time. It was a very new experience but I enjoyed and plan on visiting more throughout my time here at UT. I visited three booths at the job fair; the campus dining booth, the Pepsi booth, and the Pilot booth. All three companies had a lot of information and insight to share about their companies. Campus dining was very interesting. They explained how students will work part-time jobs at PCB and Southern Kitchen. They explained how flexible the hours are and the pay rate. Pepsi was very interesting to visit. Not only did I get some free merchandise I also got a chance to talk to a corporate employee. Pilot …show more content…
I want to focus and get ahead on my school work before I take on extra hours of work. Eventually when I am an upperclassman I hope to get well-paying job to afford a house or an apartment for rent.
There were a lot of other students at the business fair as well. Not only did freshman show up but many upperclassmen did as well. Many of the upperclassman were dressed in business professional clothes such as a blazer and tie. I believe this was because they were more interested in looking for job and internship opportunities than most of the underclassmen.
As this was a new experience for me I would change a few things the next time I go to a job fair. I plan on bringing a few copies of my resumes just in case I end finding a company that I am interested in. I also plan on attending a few more booths and broadening my experience at the job fair.
Overall I enjoyed the job and internship fair and visiting the booths. It was a useful experience that could end up helping me get a job or internship in the following years. The only thing I disliked about it was how crowded Thompson-Boling arena was, it was a little hard to move around from booth to booth. Besides the overcrowding the job fair was a great

Summary of Activities Outside of our meeting on Sunday October 8th, I spent an hour looking up registration letters online, just to see what other examples are available. I was amazed at how many different registration styles there were. I coordinated with my classmates on clip art for the registration letter and downloaded the sample my professor uploaded for us. I completed the letter and I believe it’s perfect. I can’t wait for everyone to see it also.…

This report requested by Michele Bartosek pertains to the Alpha Kappa Psi Career Fair, hosted at Central Michigan University (CMU). While attending my first CMU career fair, I was not actively seeking an internship, but rather gaining experience and building my network. When I walked into Finch Fieldhouse, I did not expect there to be 143 tables worth of future employers, all squeezed into one gym. Although the Alpha Kappa Psi career fair was extremely overwhelming and stressful, it was beneficial to go as a freshman to understand what I can improve on at the next career fair. I understand the importance of many potential employers attending this event at this venue to maximize the opportunity for the students, however having so many people…

It is that time of the semester, the Org Fair! Even though it is not as much fun as the Fall Org Fair, it is still an important day in the semester. It gives the opportunity of recruitment for the clubs on campus. For me, it is quite a busy day. For Dawg Pound, I am trying to promote the final stretch of basketball games as much as possible, as both teams are fighting for a home playoff game.…

Healthcare administration graduates have many possible choices for what healthcare setting to pursue a career, including hospitals and large medical complex facilities such as medical supply, pharmaceutical companies, clinics, health insurance businesses, government agencies, research facilities, rehabilitation centers, and nursing homes. I would utilize this service again because it was an informative workshop. I learned a lot from the speakers and I would attend if there is another one in the future. One of the service I think should be offered to UCF students is a mentorship program. I believe that it should be mandatory for every student to find a mentor in their field of study before graduation.…

Friday and Wednesday’s gallery walk was a huge learning experience. I learned so much about topics that I didn’t know anything about like Kent State, The Space Race and the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. When I was presenting I loved seeing how interested people were in my topic as was I. People had so many questions and it was great to be able to know so much and answer them. My topic was the John F. Kennedy assassination.…

“UC Davis Career and Internship Fair” This fall I started my journey with UC Davis. Davis is a really exciting, new and challenging chapter in my life. I moved from San Mateo, where I lived with my fiancée, to an apartment in Davis where I live on my own. Starting new school, and being surrounded by many new faces is not easy. I am not a person who can easily meet and connect with new people.…

In order to improve my process for a better chance of internship, I scour the company website and look for the overall business and marketing strategy and the goal objectives of the company. Following the company research, I generally touch up my resume before the fair by adding on the additional activities and jobs I have been involved with since the last career fair. Since my freshmen year I have added jobs, a study abroad program and an internship to my resume. After my various researching and my resume reviewing is finished, I create a general speech that I can pitch to almost every company I plan to meet with and I also rehearse it a few times to myself or roommates to make sure it is a solid introduction for myself. Lastly, I find something that is business-oriented and professional to wear to the career…

The poem ‘A summer day’, by Mary Oliver asks the question “What is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life?”. The UCF College of Business is filled with so many opportunities, I try to take advantage of all that I can while it is available. One of those opportunities is the chance to attend career fairs, another is having career services. Since transferring to UCF from Valencia I had heard about students attending career fairs and landing jobs just by networking and handing out resumes. I thought that was far-fetched, that potentially someone could obtain the employer contacts and stay in communication with them until an interview came of it.…

This week, I really enjoyed listening to the lecture on AB and ABA designs. I have come to realize that lectures are very beneficial in an online program, even if they are video recorded. That is confirmation that the sky is the limit for FSU graduates.…
