Benefits Of Internet Streaming

Internet Streaming services allow T.V. shows and movies to be played over the internet. They have started to emerge over the past decade as the new dominant form of watching movies and T.V. shows. Streaming has replaced most of the traditional ways of watching movies, like going out and renting, and even movie releases. Streaming services have started releasing movies soon after theatre release, and even side by side with some theatre releases. Streaming Services such as Netflix, Amazon Prime, and Hulu among others, charge low monthly fees for hundreds of hours of content that is updated regularly. They make it convenient to watch at home off of most devices, if you don 't mind the slight lower quality of streams compared to blu-ray. quality. The limitations of streaming quality include lower resolutions, like downgrading from 1080 to 720,and that 's only if you can load 720. The quality can become even worse if you have internet with restricted or low bandwidth, or isn 't fast enough to stream, which is fairly intensive(Gould). On the topic of internet, if your internet ever goes out you will not be able to stream, which could be a problem for some. A second con of streaming is if you are looking for a specific title that is obscure, or foreign, odds are that you are going to have to find a different way to rent it. While the combined libraries of these services are large they are predominantly mainstream movies for the masses. Third off, if you are a collector you most likely want to own the disc and case, obviously streaming doesn’t include owning the discs. Lastly, Streaming offers no forms of watching live T.V. yet. So there is no watching the game, or your favorite series live as it comes on, you’ll have to wait for it to be added

When it comes to limitations there are quite a few. Some of these limitations are things like the screen size and resolution, the application should be designed to automatically adjust to the size of screen you have because nowadays you can watch things on a variety of screen sizes, however a lot of older applications don’t and the older ones tend to be smaller than today so they will tend to have a thick black border around them this is because it was designed on a screen that size and wasn’t designed to adjust for example: This is called ‘Symbols 1916 lest we forget’ Furthermore other limitations could be memory space/ capacity as the end product may have a large file size and the user may not have enough space for it, this would be an inconvenience…

In the question of ethics being regulated or over-regulated I would have to chose the Sherman Antitrust Act of 1980 as under regulated. The Sherman Antitrust act of 1980 was introduced to prevent monopolies ( Ferrell, Fraedrick, & Ferrell, 2013). The unsteady merging of companies is a sure sign of monopolies to come;for example, “The FCC and the DOJ approved the the 88 billion dollar merger of charter communications with Time Warner Cable and a smaller rival company Bright House Networks, creating the second largest broadband provider in the United States” (Selyukh, 2016). Currently cable television is seeing a decline in clientele, with the option of online television such as Hulu, Netflix, and Amazon prime consumers are no longer tied…

Net Neutrality Regulation Pros Network neutrality prevents ISPs from charging services such as Netflix, Skype, PlayStation Plus, and Xbox live for “fast lanes.” The extra expenses for “fast lanes” are a big challenge for internet users since the services become more costly and small companies are prevented from healthy competition with larger corporations that have the required budgetary means to make deals with ISPs. Network neutrality also prevents bias behavior against users by insuring that users from diverse socio-economic status have the same access to information. The absence of neutrality could give rise to a situation where priority is given to entertainment’s high-speed internet over education (Pil & Kim, 2010). It could also mean a rise in premium charges by ISPs for special access to archives and public libraries.…
