In the other side, I feel lonely as I do not have a roommate in this semester. With facing four walls everyday in campus, no one can share my pressure, I start to find ways to escape from the stress instead of due with it. also, developing interest can be useful to distract from internet (張勻銘, 王智弘, 陳彥如 & 楊淳斐, 2012). I would like to pay more time for stay with others. While staying with others, even we still using internet, with focusing more on useful pages and pay less time on phone. A lot of the time when I’m reading online I won’t actually read the whole thing I usually just skim through it and find out information because it’s faster and easier than reading the whole thing. Many people in school will look up questions on the internet just to find an answer to a question for a class and won’t really learn anything because they don’t understand why that’s the answer, but because it’s faster and easier and gives them the answer they don’t typically care if they’re actually learning. The internet is full of all different medias, so when I’m on certain sites I get distracted by ads or other things that interest me, if I’m writing a paper I often lose my place because a message or notification will pop up so I leave the paper and look at it. In psychology we were learning about the brain and how neurons create new connections and lose old…

Also, the “busy” websites usually have too much advertisements, and I don’t know which is part of the website, and which are just advertisements. Often, if I click on the wrong thing I end up going on a wild goose chase. Example: http://www.jamilin.com/ • Rather than entertainment, I usually am looking for information on the web. If I am looking to read the Bible I like to listen to an audio bible, instead of just reading, although I have done both because sometimes I can’t find the audio bible easily because the way some browsers are, I think I am saving something and then when I need it, I can’t find it. •…

If people are using the Web simply to look up quick little bits of information instead of taking the time to learn them they will be much less likely to memorize the knowledge that they are using. With all this information accessible with another quick search there is no need to commit to memory what they are learning. While it may make access to information quick and easy, Carr believes this will negatively impact our cognitive process. He believes that this availability of facts and data whenever we want it will,”… place[s] more pressure on our working memory, not only diverting resources from our higher reasoning faculties but obstructing the consolidation and the development of schemas”(Carr 192). With such ease of access we will eventually use it as a crutch for our knowledge and intelligence, hindering the intellectual growth of our generation.…
