ABSTRACT

The purpose of my newsletter reflection is to give a detailed summary of the informative information that was provided in the Internet Safety Newsletter I created for parents and students. The newsletter that I created is an informative piece of work that will provide parents and students a better idea of the many dangers the Internet may cause as well as how to prevent them from happening. In accordance, I demonstrate to the parents the many ways that we can all work together to help keep their children safe. I provided a lot of information in order for parents to know what is going on in the world of the web. It is very important for students to know all the dangers of the Internet and to know what they should be doing online, and whom to seek when in need. According to the article “Internet Safety”, Steven Dowshen (2015) states “As with any safety issue, it 's wise to talk with your kids about your concerns, take advantage of resources to protect them, and keep a close eye on their activities.” As for parents, it is very important to be aware of what your child is doing online as well as to know what to do if your child is in …show more content…
As developing my newsletter I acquired more knowledge. From this assignment I am more educated on the ways to prevent Internet harm on students, parents as well as myself. All the tips I have provided will help me as a future educator as well as a future parent. I can’t stress enough the thought that something that can be so helpful can be so harmful as well. As a future educator, I will always be in contact with all my parents reminding them to please be on top of their children when online. It is very important for my students to be smart in the Internet, I will always be working with them as well as with my parents to continue educating them on the importance of Internet safety. To exemplify this, lets say that one school day morning a student comes to me and tells me that last night when mom was cooking he was playing on his Ipad and a chat opened up with a stranger asking him for his information. Thankfully the situation doesn’t worsen because my smart student closed the app. In this situation I will prize the student for his good action and I will definitely get In contact with his parents and let them know what is going on and the actions they should take in order for this to not happen again.
