Introduction
The internet and social networking are considered as some of the agents that have changed the world causing the world to evolve in matters related to communication. Due the use of internet technology and social networking, distance seems to have been shortened and the worlds appears like one small village with the impact felt on matters related to economics and international relations. The main purpose for this paper is to provide an argumentative essay that discusses the impact of the internet on business and government among other key areas.
Thesis Statement: Over the past few decades, the world has enjoyed the emergence of internet and social networking as they have impacted the government and other business in one way or the other.

One of the negative effects of the internet and social networking on businesses is unhealthy competition that mainly affects the traditional brick-and-mortar stores. Eventually, most of the people operating their businesses in the traditional manner may be forced out of the market by online businesses. According to Grifiths (2010), the internet may also lead to a decrease in the level of productivity in work places. For instance, some employees may spend more time on the internet doing personal things instead of working as required. Other negative impacts that may be associated with the internet and social networking at work include impersonality and lack of security in terms of hacking and e-terrorist among other negative issues.
