This stage is when we are capable of holding a conversation, and solving mathematical situations. I’ve come across a few kids who struggle with holding a conversation, but this theory shows that from these ages they are able to do so. I wonder if this has to do with a short attention span? The formal operational stage is the last stage, beginning at age of 12 into adulthood. This is when the mature moral reasoning comes into play. Reality sets into this stage, as we get older the more we think about the importance of a realistic thought. I think of this stage as common knowledge stage. In one of my classes we were asked to put together a realistic goal, this is when our mature reasoning’s Piagets theories were started in the 1920’s. I believe this to be very educational, but times have changed and kids now and days kids seem to be very advanced for their age. My second grader is learning how to do multiplication problems. I don’t recall being this advance in school at this age. A thought to keep in mind as we raise our children, is that they do not understand an adults point of view, for they are not yet at that
