As a matter of fact, American compensation and benefit packages are the hardest to compile. The first step you need to take is to review the compensation for that particular manager with similar backgrounds in your industry. Since there are different levels of executives, you should make sure the information you receive is accurate. Since the major senior executive salaries have to be based on the decision of the Board of Directors, you need to make the compensation and benefit packages are not extensive. For example, the average CEO makes a median salary of $741,599 without the additional perks he/her receives; if you include salary, bonuses and some benefits with the CEO’s his new median salary becomes $1,200,000.00. In recent decades income inequality has become an emergent epidemic, specifically for countries experiencing rapid economic growth. Since the Mao era, China has grown increasingly susceptible to this problem as it has developed to become the second largest economy in the world. To further contextualize China’s economic growth, Wang Jisi explains, “As recently as 2001, China’s total GDP was only 12.8% of U.S GDP. In 2011, China’s GDP reached $7.3 trillion, amounting to 48.5% of U.S. GDP” (Lieberthal and Jisi, 9). Although this rapid development has brought about higher standards of living for Chinese citizens, it has also facilitated the drastic divergence of incomes throughout the population.…

To cope with this problem, China’s government started the “One-Child Policy” in 1979 with an aim to prevent an overpopulation disaster and to put an end to this problem. Immigration is an important part of United States’ history. Between the years of 1870 and 1910, more than 20 million individuals migrated to the nation. As the years progressed, many of the American natives began to treat migrants unfairly. The group of migrants that I have chosen to focus on is the Chinese. Many Chinese migrants dwelled together in Los Angeles’s Chinatown.…

Fortis, an international bank, currently focused in Belgium, has created a brand new system that enables to pay on a individual performance basis and in my opinion has had a positive cultural impact in Belgium. With that in mind, all workers for Fortis receive a partly fixed salary and partly variable salary depending on the how they perform in the workplace. This of course is varied throughout the company in different role classification, for example the employees found in the management category have a 16% increase possible in wage depending on how well they perform. Fortis has provided innumerable jobs for the population of Belgium and I believe that this newly installed payroll techniques addresses the problem of disemployment but also social problems that have risen as previously stated in current generations. It gives a stop to McJobs as they strive to perform better and better due to the incentive given and therefore rise throughout the ladder of power in the company.…

China is one of the leading forces in our global market. It is more than likely at some point Americans will have to conduct business with the Chinese. It is important to understand the cultural differences, different values, and proper etiquette when conducting business in China as an American or it can result in a loss of a potential market that would have been beneficial to the American economy. According to Graham & Lam (2003) “The root cause: a failure on the American side to understand the much broader context of Chinese culture and values, a problem that too often leaves Western negotiators both flummoxed and flailing” (p. 71). This suggests that Americans can solve the main reason for loosing potential business partners in China by…
