Intercultural communication is an important facet of life one needs to learn and comprehend to be able to move forward through life as a global citizen when dealing in international business. Understanding the cultural contexts of oneself and others will broaden one’s experience. When dealing with a business globally its important to have set goals in understanding in the process within values, negotiations, business customs, etiquette and import systems used. It is important for people to communicate successfully and understand the complex dynamics in which communication takes place between cultures. Culture has a large impact on how people conduct business; therefor-cultural implications are critical for succeeding in an international context. Etiquette can be a variety of simple principles; Respect your surroundings, follow protocol/negotiation, sensitivity to the culture, and definition of social class and standards of introduction. In Russia etiquette of any kind will bring forth importance when dealing in a global company. When conducting business it is significant to create language carriers to help create understanding when discussing business transactions. It is important to always stay positive and courteous to your colleagues in all business transactions. Be prompt and aware of all cultural aspects and differences that are presented. Business card exchanges are important and a sign or readiness when, always have a card ready even before being asked. Russians are a “as we go” style of culture and promote them selves on knowing a large amount of detail to get to the final step.
