Kandahar International Airport, Afghanistan.
The Major and SMS were making their rounds to the respective bases where their candidates were located. In all cases, the candidates nor their own command knew that they were even being considered and they were going to be interviewed. They were crisscrossing the United States, then Europe didn’t find anyone candidate to their liking or any that were willing to commit. There next stop was Afghanistan where they had three potential candidates all in the same unit.
They were traveling to Kandahar International Airport where the US Air Force had a PJ contingent. Word was sent ahead to the unit command to have ready for some undetermined type interviews by Air Force personnel coming in from the

“Yes sir. Sir?” “Yes Airman?” Major Wakowski responded. “Sir what’s the point of these questions?” “Airman please wait outside, have a seat with Staff Sergeant Bell, and don’t wonder off. Tell Wo to come in.” The Major ordered. Senior Airman Ramirez was momentarily taken-back and wasn’t happy at all to be summarily dismissed with no answer to his question. He also knew, however, that he had no recourse, he stood, came to attention, saluted, did an about face and marched out of the room and into the hallway. “Staff Sergeant Wo they want you now.” Ramirez stated, with that Ramirez walked over and sat down next to Bell. SSG Wo had spoken with SSG Bell while Ramirez was in the room so he wasn’t going in totally blind, assuming they kept the same line of questioning. SSG Wo stood, walked and entered the conference room. He saw both men seated and was directed to have a seat right in front of them. SSG Wo, marched over and sat down at the position of attention. “Relax Staff Sergeant.” Major Wakowski ordered. “Yes sir.” SSG Wo remained seated at attention. Major Wakowski picked up the Staff Sergeants personnel file and began to thumb through it. “You’re from Orlando Florida?” Senior Master Sergeant Smith
