According to Lacey, (n.d.), an internal consultant is an organization development professional who is employed full time by an organization and who reports to a general or senior management. The group project consists of the internal consultants working for CROS Ministries. CROS Ministries serves the hungry in Palm Beach and Martin Counties through community collaboration. The charity is a non-profit organization that in order to sustain their operations, they must fundraise. The internal consultant will be evaluating ways to make the annual walk fundraising event even profitable for the organization. The internal consultant team has the following strengths:

All of these points need to be discussed and documented when the meeting between the internal consulting department and clients takes place so that everyone understands what they are responsible for moving forward. The internal Consulting department also needs to keep in mind that everybody will be looking at them as agents of improvement and therefore they will always need to behave accordingly by doing everything they promised to do. By being good communicators, displaying authenticity, honesty, respect and being team players will inspire trust among those around them. However, this may not suffice if the client, the line managers in this case, are unable to perceive a level of authenticity coming from the consultant. Internal consultants need to be honest and sincere from the very start and stay that way through the whole process. This will increase the chances of gaining not only the trust of the clients but gain key contacts simultaneously.
The Internal consulting unit cannot market any type of services expecting to achieve any success unless they are able to show to the client enough evidence of an existing problem. A contracting meeting between the internal consultant and the client must follow to discuss the issue at stake or any other issues that may arise while the conversation takes place.
The contracting meeting will play a crucial part in how we identify who the key clients are for many reasons. As consultants we need to know who is in charge of making the final decisions and their roles within the organization. Key contacts are who we need to engage with on the issues of wants and needs from both sides.
Although we know that there is always a chance of failure on any project, Establishing great relationships with line managers will increase our chances of working together in future ventures.
