Conflict is all around me; whether it be on the news, in social media or at school. Shakespeare explores conflict in his plays, specifically in Romeo and Juliet. Romeo and Juliet's adaptation of conflict is portrayed on a number of confusing levels. Sure, there is the family conflict between the rival Montagues and the Capulets, but this is only skimming the surface when it comes to the conflict in the play. I have learnt that conflict goes beyond fighting and violence, there are many layers of conflict. Romeo and Juliet has the capacity to teach me, and people at my age, that young or forbidden love can often lead to internal conflict, and in this case be the catalyst for death and other serious events.
