Just when you think he is about to give up, just ready to throw in the towel, he says in the 12th and 13th verses; “But You, O Lord, are still on the throne. You will arise and have mercy on Zion, for the time to favor her, yes, the set time has come.” Zion represents God’s people. You are in one sense like Zion. If you put your name in the place of Zion, and read this same verse back to yourself, saying “You, oh Lord will arise and have mercy on {your name}, yes, for the set time has come.” In the midst of his sad song in the midst of his long lament, he knew deep down there was a set time for the King of Creation to come.
