How do internal and external factors nurture the type of unethical behavior that has led to corporate scandals? In the case of HealthSouth they had both internal and external factors that lead to their issues with fraud. It's hard to believe that they never noticed the things that were slowly bringing them down but it's those sneaky things that can bring an entire company down. Although it's not a thing bringing down a company it's a person or sometimes a group of people who for many reasons do the things they do. Whether they were aware of what was going on or not they’re considered part of the crime as well. HealthSouth is also one of the nation's largest providers for health care. Lots of people in the company were affected whether you were involved or not. These types of crimes are called white collar. Some of the employees started to see something was going on. Many companies that collaborated to make HealthSouth didn't know the wrong things they were doing but ended up looking bad for helping a fraud company even if they had nothing to do with the crime. Not only other companies but people that worked for the company, some that actually did their work the proper way had to go through lots of trouble of the investigation process because they worked in a company that wasn’t well constructed. Even afterwards the people that used work there trying to look for a new job found it hard because other companies were worried that those people who used to work there might have been the ones committing fraud therefore they thought maybe they’d come to there company and do the same.
