Kid – Zone and Launch – A – Ball. Through these areas fans where further entertained and gave them a chance to have fun and win prizes. These areas became important as the season goes due to the team not generating large amounts of income per game. That last area I was exposed to was helping to inform fans. As fans attended the games they wanted to be informed due to most players not being well known and not knowing the stadium well. The first learning objective I had was to gain an understanding of the process of getting fans into the event. As each game went on I gain an understanding that the normal promotions, such as $1 beer night and Pets in the Park, work but more is needed to get fans into the game. Through the course of the season we created promotions such as country night and Star Wars day. With creating additional promotions more fans were attracted than just the normal promotions that happen every day. Another learning objective I was able to complete was gaining an understanding of what goes on behind the scenes at a sporting event. I was able to learn that fans need to be entertained and kept safe from the time they enter the stadium to the time they leave the field.
