The Truth About Intermittent Fasting: Rhetorical Analysis of Carrie Dennett’s
“Despite the hype, intermittent fasting isn’t a magic weight-loss cure” What is intermittent fasting? Is it any better than other ways of dieting? Is it effective? Intermittent fasting is a powerful tool where you follow a pattern of schedule when to eat and when not to eat. When you are in fasted state, it influences two main hormones in your body; it triggers the growth hormones, which is an anti-aging and fat burning hormone, and helps heal insulin resistance where the pancreas produces excess insulin hormones that cause fat storage. This type of eating pattern became controversial because of its aggressive approach to the society. It’s not your typical breakfast-lunch-snack-dinner, because you fast for 16 to 20 hours before you can eat your first meal, leaving you with only 8 hours of eating window then back to fasting.
