The basic definition will leads to the basic understanding of interlocking directorate. The definition of Interlocking directorate is that it is when the same person sits in a board to represent various corporations. Interlocking directorate has to do with the power of elite. This is because the power of elite talks about the one percent of people who have all the money is the ones who have the power of our nation in their hands. Interlocking directorate refers to those in the power of elite who own a bunch of corporations who have influences within the three concepts and or domains of the power elite. Mills says that the triangle of power is the source of the interlocking directorate. This is very similar to what was previously said the only …show more content…
It is looking at one theorist and analyzing their concepts and ideas in order to see how or what should be passed on to the next generation. In class when we were speaking about archeology we were also speaking about Foucault. Foucault called himself the professor of history of system of thought. Archeology is not really just about one theorist and the theory, the point is not that the theory is important but what are the important components. What was found within this theorist research and how it is affecting the others around and or how will it affect the ones surrounding it. This concept and or way of thinking seeks to uncover the conceptual environment that determines and limits individuals thoughts in a way that individuals may or may not be aware of. Archeology is a historical method that looks at the past and selects what should continue on to the future. An example that helped me understand this is a person who experiences or witnesses a terrible/horrific even as a child or at a young age whose brain represses the memory to protect the child. Although the memory is there the brain suppresses and only remembers things that can benefit the child instead of harming it. It is selecting the types of information others should know. Taking it from Foucault archeology is all about examining the traces and orders that are left by the past in order to write history from a present perspective.
