Interest In Student Work-Based Learning

The increasing number of students entering the work-force has led to an interest in student Work Based Learning also known as Co-op. “Work-based learning (WBL) is a proactive approach to bridging the gap between high school and high-demand, high-skill careers in Tennessee. Students build on classroom-based instruction to develop employability skills that prepare them for success in postsecondary education and future careers” (www.tn.gov). Local farmers and businesses express their interest in employing students within their workplace for students to gain knowledge and experience while still being in school to prepare them equipt with the real world experience as an employee.
