Many people mistakenly view the degree as a general degree with little focus. However, Interdisciplinary Studies is more focused than a general degree. Explaining this subtle difference is key to understanding the degree. An Interdisciplinary Studies degree allows a student to explore several disciplines while working toward a focused degree area of emphasis. All students must also engage in courses to fulfill general education requirements and fulfill the course requirements for their area of emphasis. I proudly served the Navy as an Intelligence Analyst for six years before deciding to come back home to the Bowling Green area. While in the Navy I took several general education classes with plans to finish my degree at WKU at some point. In the meantime, I owned four retail wine and spirits stores with locations across the state and had two beautiful children.
At some point over a year ago, I decided that I wanted to finish my degree.
