I agree that when workers are interdependent of each other it forces people to care more about what they do. They know that their actions affect others, therefore, they try harder to do a good job and to get their work completed on time. It is true that interdependence in the office can be negative because some people cannot work with others, nevertheless, some people need to work together in order to successfully complete a project or task. Working with others provides an array of skills, insight, and motivation. Interdependence can prevent individual goals from being achieved, but as you said people can still make and achieve individual goals within their group.
