Similar to the Martin, Bradford, Drzewiecka & Chitgopekar, (2003) study, data will be collected from a group of 300 or more white college students from the Midwest region of America. Additionally, data will be collected from 300 or more black college students from the southeast region of America. Specifically, students from Luther college and NCA&T university will be assessed by using a questionnaire from Martin, Bradford, Drzewiecka & Chitgopekar, (2003) study that was modeled after Lamp’s (1981,1982) questionnaire used in the study of Interethnic dating. A few modifications will be made to the questionnaire to better suit the purposes of this study such as tailoring some questions to be more qualitative for acquiring specific details and other questions to use Likert-type measures acquire data that is more precise on aspects that affect attraction as a function of race. Although results are predicted to support the hypotheses, the testing of only two racial groups (white and black) and two national regions is a limiting factor when computing results to use for general population purposes. Collectively these limitations would prevent this study from being useful to the general population but the results could be used for educational purposes and as a buffer for further research. For future research, because the study is constructed around two specific populations and national regions to generate wider results that could be generalized future studies could temper their study to include more race and ethnicities and include more national regions. Additionally, future studies could look at the external factors found in this study to influence attraction to
