Men and women deserve equal rights, equal treatment and equal opportunity (Ltd, White Fuse Media). In Blue Elephants, the feminist theory was shown when it showed how even women were travelling to Malaysia for work and how they left their families to achieve the goals that they wanted to. Even though it was not the work that they imagined, they still tried to live in the bad conditions that they were in, and to work hard. This shows how they had the opportunity to leave their country for work which shows how they had the right to work, and how they were treated equally to men. Besides that, labour workers should have the rights and stand for what they believe, because they have families back home where they could be living, but do not even go back because the lack of opportunities and even when they travelled they didn’t have the right to stand for what they believe because of the way they were treated. They are torn from their loved ones, not to be treated unfairly, but to make a better difference for themselves and those around them. Out of these two theories, the top paradigm is the conflict theory. Personally, the conflict theory is the most useful sociological perspective, because it shows most what the migrant workers are facing in Malaysia. The ideas analyzed, based on what was provided in the documentary, are very much a reality. The fact that the migrant workers fulfil demanding jobs and in return, are not being paid a livable wage, even though the companies are making enough profit to pay the livable wage for the workers, shows how the human rights have not been applied to these migrant workers and that there are no social and economic equalities between the workers in the company. It is crucial to raise concern for the unethical treatments and disadvantages of people who come from different parts of society.
