According to vocabulary.com integrity is a personal quality of fairness that we all aspire to, unless you're a dishonest, immoral scoundrel, of course. Integrity applies a lot in school in cases such as cheating and lying. Like many other people my age I am guilty of lying and not always doing what I am supposed to do. Integrity will definitely have a very big impact in people’s lives everywhere.
Integrity to me means being true to myself and true to others. I have been guilty of being dishonest as well have having integrity. An example of a time when I was dishonest was when I cheated on my social studies test in 8th grade. My teacher, Mr. L., was in his first year at St. Anne’s School. I was taking one of my tests in Science and one of the girls to my side whispered asking what number 5 was. I pretended not to understand although I could. She is one of my close friends also and I was nervous she would be mad at me. I knew cheating was wrong and I did not want to possibly in trouble. Another time I was full of integrity along with my AP history class was when Mrs. Rappoport left during our test and although there was opportunity to share answers and cheat everyone stayed quiet and continued their work silently. This shows how Sacred Heart is a school filled with integrity in each and every one of the students. Integrity will affect your future both because if you are caught not being honest and cheating you can possibly be punished. Also if you grow up not being an honest and just person you may not be as successful in life. You will not be confident in yourself because you will rely on cheating and lying. Integrity to me is doing the right thing even when no one’s watching, and always choosing to do the right thing even if it comes to sacrificing something in your own
